Last month my besties and I visited The Creative Craft Show in Birmingham for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure what to expect, although I've visited the NEC many times for events such as The Clothes Show Live, this was something different.
Early bird tickets cost £12 which I thought was quite reasonable. You can also book for classes throughout the day, but I didn't do that this time, I just wanted to see what it was all about.
Each event has a theme I think, and this one was Sewing for Pleasure and there was an embroidery exhibit that you could visit too.

My impression was that it's basically a huge craft market, with lots of specialist vendors and artists. There was a lot of stalls that were similar, selling fabric, threads, craft supplies etc. But every now and then, you find a real gem!
I have been making beaded and embroidered cards recently, so I was looking for some beads, as I find Hobbycraft's range quite limited, and I wasn't disappointed. I found a stall selling packets of beads for as little as 15p!
Check out my shop to snag one of my cards for yourself, each one is unique and you can frame the card if you don't want to use it as a greetings card.
No day out is complete without a treat or two and we found O'Donnell Moonshine tough nut spirit and it tasted amazing, the Moonshine is handmade in Manchester and comes in Mason jars reminiscent of the American prohibition, anything plastic free and I'm sold!
Next we found Mary's cupcakes and bought some incredible brownies and cookies. I forgot to take a photo, me and my hubby tucked into them as soon as I got home, but check out their website or Instagram for some chocolate wizardry.
In the centre of the exhibition we found works from local artists and crofters, and it was so inspiring to see. I was particularly interested in is beaded piece, but my bestie like this bee piece the best.

My winning purchase of the day was a braid necklace kit from Crafting with Lyndsey for £8, in a dreamy maroon colour. When I've made it I'll write a post to show you the outcome, watch this space

My experience at The Creative Craft Show inspired me to draw the design on the header of the of this post, I left feeling like there was SO much I wanted to try, and would highly recommend visiting.
See you there next year!
