Hi Lovelies!
I'm busting my holiday blues by blogging about my fabulously sunny week in Cala Llonga, Ibiza, and today I wanted to write about all of the lovely places we visited.
We stayed in the Globales Monte Mar Hotel, a 3 star resort catering for all inclusive or self catering guests and is family friendly too. I travelled with my husband, parents, sister and niece who is almost 18 months and loved the baby pools and playground.
Cala Llonga is a quiet resort, with an absolutely stunning sandy beach, surrounded by bars and restaurants and a playground for families. The sea is shallow enough to walk out around 40 meters, which is perfect for my hubby as he likes to snorkel.

Near to the beach is Flipper's. I mentioned this restaurant in yesterday's blog about eating veggie in Ibiza, but what I didn't mention was how nice this place was, yeah the food was great, but so was the service and atmosphere. There was a heatwave during our week here, and after the lovely staff had moved a couple tables around to accomodate 5 adults and baby, they turned the air-con on high for me so I didn't have to keep fanning myself. It was a huge relief after a sweltering hot walk from the hotel. The food was delicious, the seats were comfy, the staff were friendly and the drinks were ice cold, what more could you ask for?
A few minutes walk away, you'll find La Cantina, Sol's bar where you'll find a British family run pub with a selection of ales and great food, and some sort of sport on the T.V.
Going back towards our hotel, you'll find Madison's bar which is another sport's bar, serving snack type food, such as sandwiches, avocado baguettes and my favourite, tomato toast. We've visited a few times, as my husband likes watching the footy and said lager is really well priced.
I enjoyed just soaking up the atmosphere with a good book and a massive cointreau with lemonade.
A short walk away, you'll find Basoa Cocktail Bar which, as you can tell by the name, is great for cocktails, and happy hour gives you a selection of classic cocktails to choose from for 6 Euros each. The bar feels like a garden, and is decorated beautifully with plants and trees.
Next door to Basoa is the gem of Cala Llonga, the Pirates Bar. If you search for things to do in Cala Llonga, this is one of the first suggestions you'll see, and rightly so; this bar has a huge cocktail menu and a fun atmosphere. The bar is quite small but there's a really nice sun terrace with a Captain Jack Sparrow mural, and a lifesize Johnny Depp cut out near the bathrooms.
My favourite was the Black Russian, but Danny went for a frozen strawberry daquiri which was pretty great too. Definitely worth a visit!

I'm already planning our next beach holiday and excited to start looking at hotel reviews and excursions soon, but although I love a week away, and look forward to it all year, there's something to be said for home comforts and kisses from my pup.
